James Webb Space Telescopes Folds Its Wings

This time-lapse shows the Webbcam view of the giant cleanroom at NASA Goddard. The operation shown here is the folding back, or stowing, of the two “wings” of the James Webb Space Telescope. Each wing holds three of its primary mirror segments. The telescope is being prepped for environmental testing. When Webb launches, both wings will be stowed in this position, which enables the mirror to fit into the launch vehicle.
